Especially for Theater de Kampanje, in collaboration with Akoesta, six large chandeliers were designed by expospaces that were fixed around the existing lights in the foyer.
Every evaluation of visitors to Theater de Kampanje revealed that everyone was very enthusiastic about the exceptionally beautiful theater and the good theater in the former naval shipyard in Den Helder, but that the poor acoustics in the foyer caused almost everyone to rush out after a performance. The acoustics had to be improved. Moreover, the unique character of the building and its beautiful architectural design needed to be preserved and enhanced. And that’s where expospaces came in.
A special acoustic chandelier was designed especially for this situation. The acoustic chandelier has a size of 4.5 x 3 meters and weighs about 500 kilograms. A total of 6 of these chandeliers were installed. To prevent a fluttering effect between the two parallel walls, a large acoustic wall panel measuring more than 15 meters in length was hung on the 25-meter-long glass wall, showing images of what it used to look like at the old Willemsoord shipyard.
The result of this modification is to reduce reverberation, to improve the atmosphere. Even a company of over 650 people can now use the foyer in a pleasant way!
